Juan D’Arienzo – 1939 – Alberto Echague – Mandria
Juan D’Arienzo was one of the most famous orchestra leaders in Buenos Aires during the Golden Age of Tango (1936 to 1956). He was called “El Rey del Compas” [The King of Rhythm] since his arrangements were most often fast, rhythmical, and strict tempo. This recording from 1939, with his frequent vocalist Alberto Echague, was made during his best era.
